Brightwater Pipeline EIS - King County, WA Bright Engineering is currently providing preliminary (30% level) engineering design for 60" diameter steel and HDPE alternate outfall pipeline, sheeting and shoring along a preferred alignment. Pipeline is buried on land for 1,000 ft., in near shore for 700 ft., and laid on seabed for 4,500 ft. to a depth of 665 ft. below MLLW.

With the regional sewer system for King and Snohomish Counties scheduled to reach capacity by 2010, the Brightwater Project is nessecary to handle rapid population growth and to help protect public health and the environment.
Bright Engineering served as Lead Structural Engineer for conceptual design of submarine outfall pipeline on four sites and along five alignments.
Pipeline material includes reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, welded steel and HDPE.
Pipeline diameter varies from 48 to 72 inches, length varies from 2700 to 4600 linear feet in water depth varying from 350 feet to 750 feet.
Our work included a study of pipe jointing, sheeting and shoring, pipe installation methods – segmental lay, control floatation and bottom pull, and access shafts for TBM option.
This study was presented in a three-day workshop and was included as a part of the EIS.
