Rabanco Regional Landfill - Truck Wheel Wash - Roosevelt, WA

Bright Engineering provided civil and structural engineering services and construction assistance for the Truck Wheel Bath Project. This project consisted of a 10 ft.-wide x 80 ft.-long concrete ramp to be used for washing trucks and for heavy equipment departing the landfill site. The truck wash features included the following:

  1. An 8 in.-deep (maximum) x 50 ft.-long water pool
  2. Transverse steel pipe rumble strips within the pool, spaced and oriented to cause significant vibration of trucks to shake loose debris from the wheel and body of the trucks
  3. Drain grooves and drain channels at the existing end, all of which were sized and oriented to contain and flush the bath water down in to the sump
  4. An approximate 10 ft. x 14 ft. x 6 ft.-deep sump with debris removal provision
